Media and fans have criticized Angel Reese regarding her basketball skills and performance. However, that was not the case on February 21 when the Rose battled against the Lunar Owls. Reese made Unrivaled history by recording a 20-20 game; she finished the game with 22 points, 21 rebounds, two assists and one steal. Reese was battling in the paint for points and was determined to score, which is precisely what she did. Every play was a battle, and Reese delivered every time.
Anyone who got in her way, such as Napheesa Collier and Courtney Williams, had to play one-on-one. She fought for every point. Reese is the type of player who plays basketball the right way. She uses basic basketball skills, such as boxing out on both ends of the court, to dominate every possession.
Legend Lisa Leslie
On her podcast Unapologetically Angel, she had the legendary Lisa Leslie on, and Reese asked Leslie, “What can she work on in year two of the WNBA season?” Lisa responded that she would love to work on Angel’s layups further. Her work ethic and training with the Hall of Famer have paid off, and Reese finished with a monstrous night because of it. Reese’s improvement is night and day compared to her WNBA rookie season. She has improved at the rim, finishing better and accurately, plus finishing strong. This proves she is going to dominate in year two of the W. She will break more records crashing the board, and become more of an offensive threat because of Unrivaled and Lisa Leslie.
Reese and company play on Saturday, March 1, at 7:00 pm ET against the Mist.
