The 6â3 forward Isabelle Harrison most recently played with the Chicago Sky in 2024 and was limited to minutes due to a torn left meniscus and missed the 2023 season with the Sky. Harrison had surgery in 2023 for a torn left meniscus. Her most productive years in the league were with the Dallas Wings, where she played for Dallas from 2019-2022. Harrison averaged 9 points per game in a Dallas uniform, played in 107 games, started 63 of them, averaged 48.3% from the field, had a good average at the free-throw line with 79.5% and played 22.1 minutes per game.  Â
Harrison, in a Chicago uniform, wasnât as productive due to her injury from the previous year. She played in 36 games but only started five. Harrison averaged 16.3 minutes per game, shot 39.9% from the field, and crashed the boards with 3.9 points per game. Isabelle played good defense and averaged 0.6 steals per game and 0.3 blocks per game. She finished the season with 6.5 points per game.
Even with limitations, Harrison was able to help her team by doing the little things. In her WNBA career, Harrison has played for four teams. The Phoenix Mercury drafted her in the first round, 12th overall, in the 2015 Draft. She then played for the San Antonio Stars in 2017, the Dallas Wings (2019-2022), and Chicago in 2024. Â
The New York Liberty has gained a grittier forward who plays both sides of the ball and is not afraid to do the small things. Harrison is the perfect addition for the Liberty after they lost Kayla Thornton in the offseason to the expansion team Golden State Valkyries. This signing is a win for both parties. When healthy, Harrison is a threat on both sides.
Here is what coach Sandy Brondello had to say about Harrison joining the team:
âWe are excited to welcome Izzy Harrison to the Liberty family and look forward to the positive impact she will have on and off the court,â said Liberty Head Coach Sandy Brondello. âHaving originally drafted her with Phoenix, she has consistently demonstrated the ability to impact games on both ends. Izzyâs versatility and commitment strengthens our post rotation and makes her an ideal fit for our team as we pursue another championship in 2025.â
The New York Liberty’s opening game is Saturday, May 17, at 3 p.m. ET against the Las Vegas Aces. Â
