Livvy Dunne began gymnastics at the age of three, spent five years at LSU, and played a key role in helping the Tigers win an NCAA title in 2024. While in Baton Rouge, she gained fame by sharing gymnastics videos on social media, establishing herself as an NIL pioneer.
Life After Gymnastics
Dunne says that even though she’s no longer competing, gymnastics will always be a part of her, and she values her close relationships with her former LSU teammates.
“The transition from being a DI athlete to no longer doing your passion is very hard,” Dunne told For The Win while promoting her partnership with Invisalign. “Gymnastics consumed so much of my childhood, so to no longer do it anymore is crazy.”
For The Win spoke with Dunne about life after gymnastics, the pitch she jokingly “taught” her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, and her impressive split on the Sports Illustrated runway.
NIL Deals and Opportunities
“The NIL landscape is always changing, but my support for women’s sports is unwavering. That’s why I established the Livvy Fund at LSU, aimed at assisting female athletes in securing NIL deals. Continuing this effort is crucial to my legacy as an LSU athlete. My goal is to keep empowering women by helping them navigate brand partnerships and obtain deals, which is often more challenging for them than for their male counterparts.”
Dunne continued, “Unlike many top-earning male athletes who are essentially paid to play through NIL, women often rely on brand collaborations for revenue. Therefore, educating and assisting women in securing these deals, and ultimately enabling them to take charge of their lives, remains a top priority for me.”
