LSU All-American pitcher Sydney Berzon has entered the NCAA transfer portal, signaling a significant shift in the collegiate softball landscape. Berzon, a standout right-hander, has been a cornerstone of LSU’s pitching staff for the past three seasons.

Tenure With the LSU Tigers

During her tenure with the Tigers, Sydney Berzon amassed a 52–25 record, a 2.02 career ERA, and 416 strikeouts across 486.1 innings pitched. In the 2025 season, she posted an 18–8 record with a 2.46 ERA over 30 appearances, despite battling injuries that were disclosed by head coach Beth Torina following the team’s early exit from the NCAA Tournament.

Awards and Legacy 

Berzon’s accolades include being named an NFCA All-American in 2023 and 2024 and earning places on the All-SEC First and Second Teams during her time at LSU. Notably, she became the program’s first NFCA All-American freshman pitcher since 2015.

Transfer Portal 

The Buffalo, New York native’s entry into the transfer portal has ignited speculation about her next destination. Programs with strong softball traditions and a need for experienced pitching talent, such as Texas A&M, are seen as potential landing spots.
