The Minnesota Lynx hosted the Dallas Wings at the Target Center in Minneapolis last week for a rematch following their season opener in Dallas. The Lynx claimed their third victory of the season—and their second win over the Wings. Adding to the excitement, rookie Paige Bueckers took the court in front of her hometown crowd, marking a special moment early in her professional career.
Minnesota Lynx 85 – 81 Wings
It was a close win for the Lynx and a tough loss for the Wings who were seeking their first win of the season. Napheesa Collier dropped twenty-eight points and picked eight rebounds to lead the Lynx to their third victory. Throughout the different quarters, both teams kept it a close race and barely outscored each other by over five points. The first quarter ended 21:18 in favor of Lynx and at the half they led by seven points.
The third quarter was a close battle, with both the Lynx and the Wings scoring 23 points apiece. The fourth quarter brought challenges for the Lynx, who faced a four-minute scoring drought. Despite the setback, they mounted a late-game comeback and sealed a four-point win, highlighted by two clutch free throws from Napheesa Collier.
Collier finished a perfect 12-for-12 from the line, maintaining her flawless free-throw streak since the start of the season. Courtney Williams and Alanna Smith each contributed thirteen points, while Jessica Shepard made her presence felt in the paint with a game-high ten rebounds.

Paige Bueckers, the 2025 1st overall draft pick had a reason to smile as fans turned out in large to support her homecoming game despite playing against her childhood home team. She posted a double double of twelve points and ten assists. Arike was the leading scorer for the Wings scoring twenty-one points and five assists.
