The last spot has been filled for the upcoming Unrivaled Basketball season. The league added New York Liberty star and champion Sabrina Ionescu. Unrivaled also revealed the two wild card spots with Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink and Indiana Fever forward Katie Lou Samuelson. Having Ionescu in the league will entice fans even more to attend Unrivaled games in Miami. Ionescu was selected as the third wild card spot with the Phantom Basketball Club.

Ionescu will join a mixture of guard and post players with the Phantom Club:

New York Liberty — Sabrina Ionescu

It has been a year to remember for the three-time All-Star and All-WNBA Team member Ionescu. From the Liberty having one of the best records in the regular season (32-8) to Sabrina joining Golden State Warrior guard Stephen Curry at the NBA All-Star Game shootout competition, Ionescu did not win the 3-point competition; however, it was a tough battle between Curry and Sabrina. It was an event to remember for all basketball fanatics. To top it off, the New York Liberty won its first championship in October, beating the Minnesota Lynx in an overtime win in game five of the series (3-2).

Ionescu had one of her best seasons to date. The 2020 No. 1 draft pick had her career’s best three-point shooting percentage. She finished the regular season with 33.3% from three, playing 38 games out of 40. Sabrina averaged 18.2 points per game for the season. She finished the regular season with (103) 3-pointers made, and her shooting phenomenon continued in the playoffs with (29) 3-pointers made. Sabrina was key during the playoffs, helping her team win a championship for the first time in franchise history.

Sabrina will bring her logo threes to Unrivaled, which will be an excellent experience for both the fans in attendance and the viewers at home. Make sure to tune in January 2025.
