A Season of Triumphs
The Bruins’ journey to the championship was nothing short of spectacular. They finished the regular season with an impressive 15-2 record and entered the sectional tournament as the second seed. The Bruins faced top-seeded Penfield in a thrilling five-set match in the finals. After splitting the first two sets, Brighton went on a 12-0 run in the third set, giving them the edge. Although Penfield rallied to take the fourth set, the Bruins clinched the victory with a 15-13 win in the decisive fifth set.
Standout Performances
Several players stood out during the tournament, earning spots on the All-Tournament Team. Charlotte Goldfeder, Vivian Marcus and Lucrezia Pavan were recognized for their excellent performance, and Pavan was named the tournament MVP. “Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without the rest of the team. This MVP is for our entire team, we all earned it, all together,” Pavan said.
Senior Vivian Marcus, who totaled 25 assists in the finals, praised her team for their hard work and resilience throughout the season. “I am so proud of this team for all of the effort we put in through the offseason, while we’re on, nonstop we never gave up,” Marcus said.
