We offer a wide range of products that I’m confident female athletes and active women will love. What makes us stand out is that 90% of these items aren’t available in any big box stores, creating a truly unique and personalized shopping experience unlike any other e-commerce site.
Santia Deck’s History
Santia Deck: What led me to create HerLocker was growing up having three brothers, one being my twin. For me, I often had to visit two or three different stores, and even then, they sometimes didn’t have what I needed. I’d end up buying the youth version of the product, which usually didn’t fit, and it was really frustrating.
Even now, in my thirties, playing flag football and rugby, it’s still tough to find the gear I need. I often end up settling for football products that are designed for men or boys. It got to the point where I felt ‘man I wish somebody would create a store that was made for female athletes.’ And Wahla, we’re here today with HerLocker. This is the white space I wanted to fill as a kid and now I have the chance to do it as an adult.
Kim Francis, Winning Her Way: This is incredible Santia. Running track from junior high to halfway through college, I remember always feeling the same way about why there were fewer choices for girls and women. There were so many brands for men and boys, especially in shorts and running tights. So, for me, HerLocker is exciting, especially coming from your mindset of being a professional athlete and having grown up with brothers who were athletes.
HerLocker Influencers
Kim Francis, Winning Her Way: I’m sure you will get many questions about how products are selected to be included. Explain to our readers your selection process and if you plan to have influencers representing HerLocker.
Santia Deck: Initially, there are a limited number of influencers that we’re going to allow into the site. For me, it’s also important to be sure HerLocker is offering our athletes and influencers a vehicle to create economic opportunities and be their own boss. We have a waiting list right now, however once more space opens, we will be approving more influencers and athletes to market their products or brands.
As an approved vendor within the marketplace, we will be offering advertising spaces available for purchase so athlete and vendor products can be at the forefront of the site.
The HerLocker Consumer
Kim Francis, Winning Her Way: Santia what can the user expect when shopping on HerLocker?
Santia Deck: We are offering the user an exclusive experience interacting with products they most likely will not find on any other e-commerce site. In the future, will be launching a loyalty program and a subscription service so users can have their deliveries sent to their homes once a month, etc.
Kim Francis, Winning Her Way: What are your target demographics for HerLocker?
Santia Deck: I would say if I had to choose a target audience today, it would be Gen Z and Gen A because they are an up-and-coming generation who have a priority in health and fitness.
However, we are encouraging men to sign up for early access as well because the holiday shopping season is around the corner and there will be some amazing things for their wives, girlfriends, partners, kids, sisters, and active grandmothers!
Marketing Plans for HerLocker
Santia Deck: In addition to my athletic career, I’m also an influencer. I have close to 3 million followers across my platforms. I will be covering product stories, and we will also feature brands and inspirational stories behind them on my women’s sports platform, Winning Her Way.
What’s Next
Kim Francis, Winning Her Way: As you look at the next 30, 60 or 90 days, what are your top priorities with HerLocker?
Santia Deck: Over the next 90 days, our goal is to raise awareness and expand our user base. We intend to put HerLocker in front of as many female athletes, active women, and fitness enthusiasts worldwide as possible.
