Sacred Heart University goaltender Carly Greene concluded her senior year with a remarkable achievement: leading the nation in save percentage for the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women’s ice hockey season.

Historic Save Record

With a .953 save percentage—allowing just 27 goals on 549 shots—Carly Greene topped the national charts, surpassing standout goaltenders from powerhouse programs like Quinnipiac and UConn. 

Greene’s exceptional performance was pivotal in Sacred Heart’s historic season. She scored a 1.54 goals-against average, ranked seventh nationally, and secured six shutouts over 19 games. Her efforts were instrumental in leading the Pioneers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history following a victory in the New England Women’s Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) tournament.

Most Outstanding Player 

In the NEWHA tournament, Greene was named Most Outstanding Player, delivering 145 saves across four games, including a 50-save performance in the semifinal against Saint Anselm and 31 saves in the championship win over LIU. 

Greene’s consistent excellence throughout the season earned her multiple accolades, including NEWHA Goaltender of the Week and HCA Women’s Goaltender of the Month honors.
