Seattle Storm 94-84 Minnesota Lynx
The Seattle Storm knew best not to allow the Lynx to have a good start and they jumped onto that from the start, making the first basket after a scoreless first two minutes for both teams. They maintained the lead throughout the first quarter, though the Lynx remained in a close chase; however, the Storm heightened their defense with each basket they made or turnover to maintain their lead. The first half ended 32-27 in favor of the Storm.
The Lynx regained their footing in the second half, outscoring the Storm to finish the half with a one-point lead, 49-48. They held the Storm to a scoreless three-minute stretch at the start of the second quarter. The third quarter proved to be a key moment for both teams, as it featured a flurry of baskets, and the Lynx were outscored by only four points by the end of the quarter, now trailing by three. The fourth quarter was monumental for the Storm, who effectively utilized the paint to score and draw fouls for free throws, helping them extend their lead.
