Katelin Talbert Joins Aston Villa – A New Chapter in Women’s Football

In an exciting move for Aston Villa, goalkeeper Katelin Talbert has joined the club on loan from West Ham United for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. The 26-year-old American shot-stopper, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, is set to bring her talents to the Villa as they aim to strengthen their squad.

On Loan From West Ham United

Talbert’s journey has been quite eventful. After joining West Ham United from Portuguese side SL Benfica in August 2023, she spent most of her time on loan to gain valuable playing experience. Last season, she was on loan at Swedish club Djurgårdens IF, where she made 14 appearances in the OBOS Damallsvenskan2. This season, she made a brief stint at Tottenham Hotspur, featuring in the group stage of the Subway Women’s League Cup.

Career Highlights

Talbert is a remarkable goalkeeper with an impressive career. She’s played for various clubs across different countries, including FH Hafnarfjörður in Iceland, SL Benfica in Portugal, Djurgårdens IF in Sweden and now West Ham United in England.

At Benfica, she won two Campeonato Nacional Feminino titles, the League Cup and the Portuguese Super Cup. The Players Union elected her the best goalkeeper of the 2021/22 Liga BPI season.

Academic and International Excellence

Talbert graduated from Humboldt State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and made the Humboldt State Academic Dean’s List in 2020.  Her international experience and adaptability make her a valuable asset to any team she joins. Her journey is a testament to her dedication, skill and resilience.
