Although the Las Vegas Aces have not had the best season or start, A’ja Wilson continues to improve and develop as a better player each year. The Aces are 9-9 and rank fourth in the Western Conference, which is not a norm for Las Vegas; however, Wilson is dominating as usual. Wilson was named Western Conference Player of the Week at the beginning of July, putting up numbers of 23.3 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game and 2.7 blocks per game. Pure domination for Wilson, and as we all know, individual accolades are significant in basketball; however, Wilson is doing all she can to help her team win. More than ever, now that Vegas is not performing as well as it should be as a team.

A’ja Wilson — All-Star Season

Wilson is no stranger to the All-Star Game and this will be her seventh time as an All-Star—well-deserved recognition from the fans, coaches and media. She is excelling this season with grit, passion and determination. Wilson has an armour in her game. In the May 30 game against the Los Angeles Sparks, Wilson had an overall outstanding game, finishing with 35 points, 13 rebounds and helping facilitate her team with six assists. A’ja not only attacks the rim with grit and scores in the paint, but her mid-range shot is lethal and she can also shoot threes. She is also making her teammates better both as players and people. Wilson is averaging 21.9 points per game, nine total rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 45.8% from the field in the regular season

It has been a stellar season for Wilson, who plays with such poise and is determined to make every possession count. She does it on both ends of the court and hustles on every play, which makes her one of the greats. An MVP-worthy season for Wilson, and the only reason she is not in the run for MVP in the fans’ eyes is due to her team not playing well, which is unfortunate. Wilson will continue to make her run and hopefully, the rest of her teammates will catch up to her greatness.
