On Thursday, the UConn women’s basketball team proudly received its 2025 national championship rings. Jostens created the rings with design input from Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, and Caroline Ducharme. Every detail reflects their teamwork, success, and pride in the program.
A Tradition of Excellence
The top of the ring shows the championship trophy draped with a net. A bold UConn wordmark rests on 12 trapezoid-shaped baguette stones, each representing one of the program’s 12 national titles. The phrase “National Champions” sparkles around the border, honoring UConn’s unmatched legacy in women’s basketball.
The Road to Victory
This ring celebrates the long journey to another national title. The right side features “2025” and the phrase “The Power of Friendship.” Five triangle stones resemble the roof of Gampel Pavilion, symbolizing five straight Big East Tournament titles. As Paige Bueckers explained, “The power of friendship is the reason we did win it.”
Captains and Key Players
Each player’s ring includes her name, number, and the Husky logo on the left side. Across the bottom, the word “Vibes” captures the team’s spirit during the season. Inside the ring, the last four opponents Oklahoma, USC, UCLA, and South Carolina, mark their memorable tournament run. “We went off straight vibes and stuck together through it all,” Bueckers shared.
Historical Comparisons
The design also introduces something new. The ring comes in two parts, the top can detach and double as a pendant. Once removed, it reveals the player’s name and number on a hidden tab. Inside, a small piece of the championship game ball connects each player to the victory itself. This feature makes the ring both personal and historic.
Beyond Basketball
In addition to the custom-made team ring, UConn also received the official NCAA championship rings from Jostens, featuring the Husky logo across the front. Every Final Four team receives one, but naturally, the national champions get the most elaborate version, a symbol of excellence, unity, and hard work.
Looking Ahead
UConn will celebrate this championship one final time when the banner is unveiled at Gampel Pavilion before their first on-campus game against Florida State on Sunday, November 9, at 4:30 p.m. ET. As the Huskies proudly wear their rings, they carry forward the same “power of friendship” that defined their 2025 season and continues to inspire future generations of athletes.
