Lunar Owls 85 vs. Mist 81
The Lunar Owls are enjoying an eight-winning streak for the fourth straight week of the Unrivaled League. The team led by DJ Sackmann has maintained its lead at the top of the table, beating every team in the league. The team has Cameron Brink, who is not playing as she recovers from an ACL injury she suffered during the 2024 WNBA season. The other teammates, Allisha Gray, Courtney Williams, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Shakira Austin and Napheesa Collier, have balled out for every game. Napheesa Collier currently leads the league in points, averaging 29.3 points per game, with Allisha Gray in fourth place, averaging 19.5 points per game.
Lunar Owls vs. Phantom
Phantom suffered its fifth loss and second defeat to the Lunar Owls. Despite improving their shooting percentage in the second matchup, they could not keep pace with the Lunar Owls’ momentum. The Lunar Owls achieved a perfect 100% from the free-throw line, and their 3-point shooting percentage of 52.9% gave them a substantial lead against Phantom. Both teams had players contributing in double figures, with Allisha Gray scoring 23 points for the Lunar Owls and Brittney Griner scoring 23 for Phantom.
Rose vs. Mist
Rose BC secured a second win to improve its winning percentage and place them third on the table. Mist lost for the second time to the Rose BC, extending their losing streak to two and putting them in last place. It has been rough so far for the Mist, who have secured only two wins against the Phantom (second last on the table) and Vinyl (fourth in the table). Kahleah Copper led the Rose with 21 points and Angel Reese registered a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Mist was led by Rickea Jackson, who scored 17 points and had seven rebounds.
Laces vs. Vinyl Canceled
The Laces versus Vinyl game was canceled. Unrivaled released a statement stating, “To prioritize player safety and health, Unrivaled will be canceling tonight’s matchup between Laces BC and Vinyl BC.”
On another note, the Laces signed Kiki Jefferson to a relief player contract. Jefferson was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx, 31 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Mist vs. Lunar Owls
This was the second meetup for the two teams, creating nearly a nostalgic feeling since these two teams played the first inaugural game for the league. In their first match, the Lunar Owls had a slim win of four points (84-80) against the Mist. It was like deja vu with the Lunar Owls securing their second win against the Mist with another four-point difference (85-81). Collier registered a double-double for the Lunar Owls with 38 points and 15 rebounds. Breanna Stewart led the Mist with 23 points and 17 rebounds. The Lunar Owls registered another perfect 100% at the free-throw line for the second straight game.
