Unrivaled Regular Game Schedule is Back. Roses beat Vinyl to win their third-straight game, while Laces, despite a depleted roster, took care of business against Phantoms.
Laces Victory Over Phantoms
The Laces have regained their winning form despite a challenging setback with multiple key players sidelined due to injuries. After suffering consecutive losses to Rose BC and the Lunar Owls, they bounced back to hand the Phantoms their sixth defeat in eight games.
The team was without Tiffany Hayes, who was ruled out due to concussion protocol, while Kate Martin (left leg injury), Alyssa Thomas (right leg injury), and Jackie Young (left knee injury) also remained unavailable. However, Kayla McBride, initially listed as probable, suited up and delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 30 points. Betnijah Laney-Hamilton also stepped up, contributing 23 points to secure the much-needed victory.
Phantoms A Formidable Competitor
Phantom BC remained within striking distance, trailing by just two or three points for most of the game. Midway through the third quarter, they managed to tie the score at 48-48 and briefly took their first lead at 52-50. However, the Laces quickly regained control, closing out the quarter with a 63-61 advantage.
In the fourth quarter, the Laces took over, stifling the Phantom’s offense and holding them to just seven points. Despite a balanced scoring effort, led by Sabrina Ionescu’s 16 points and 13 rebounds, the team’s collective double-figure contributions weren’t enough to overcome the Laces’ dominant finish.
Roses Rise to the Occasion
Rose BC is riding a strong winning streak despite early struggles in the season. Before the 1v1 tournament break, they secured back-to-back victories over Mist and the Laces. Now, they’ve returned to action with a statement win against Vinyl.
In their previous matchup, Vinyl edged out Rose BC with a 79-73 victory. This time, Rose got their revenge, winning by the same six-point margin, 61-55. Chelsea Gray led the charge with 26 points, while Angel Reese and Azurá Stevens dominated the boards, combining for 26 rebounds—15 and 11, respectively. Rose played without Kahleah Copper, who was sidelined with a right leg injury.
