The 25-year-old Swedish rookie secured her first LPGA Tour victory in just her third LPGA Tour start, finishing at 21-under par with a final-round 68.

Ingrid Lindblad’s performance included six birdies on Sunday, with her last on the par-5 11th hole. She maintained composure by parring the final seven holes, avoiding a playoff when fellow rookie Akie Iwai bogeyed the 18th, finishing one stroke behind.

Exceptional Amateur Achievements

Ingrid has swiftly emerged as a standout talent on the LPGA Tour, marking her as a promising figure in the future of women’s golf.  Before going pro, she had an illustrious amateur career. She secured 15 collegiate victories at Louisiana State University and held the top spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 53 weeks. Her accolades include the 2024 Ping WGCA Player of the Year, the Annika Award, and the Honda Sports Award. Notably, she finished T11 as the low amateur at the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open and was runner-up at the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Rapid Professional Success

After turning pro in mid-2024, Lindblad quickly established herself on the Epson Tour by clinching a victory at the Tuscaloosa Toyota Classic and finishing sixth in the Race for the Card, which earned her an LPGA Tour card.

Lindblad’s ability to maintain composure is evident in her recent victory, where she parred the final seven holes to secure a one-stroke win. Her approach, symbolized by a bracelet inscribed with “be where your feet are,” reflects her focus and mental strength.

Promising Rookie Season

With a win and a top-10 finish in her first four LPGA starts, Lindblad has already amassed over $574,000 in earnings, positioning herself as a strong contender for Rookie of the Year honors.

Upcoming Major Appearances

Her recent victory has qualified her for major championships, including the U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills. Given her performance in past majors as an amateur, expectations are high for her continued success.

Ingrid Lindblad’s combination of talent, determination, and early professional success indicates a promising future on the LPGA Tour.
