The 2024-2025 WSL season concluded over the weekend, with Chelsea securing its title with a 1-0 victory against Liverpool. Additional awards from the season were also announced after its conclusion. The WSL awards took place concurrently with the Women’s Championship awards on Sunday, May 11. These were the inaugural awards for both the WSL and the Championship.

Chelsea’s Victory 2024-2025

Chelsea finished the season at the top of the table, achieving 19 wins, three draws, and no losses to accumulate 60 points. This makes Chelsea the only WSL team to have eight WSL championships and to maintain a winning streak for six years. The club has won championships for the past six years (2020-2025) and has had two additional championship wins in 2015 and 2018. The key to the team’s success was goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who won the Golden Glove. She recorded 13 clean sheets throughout the season, tying for this award with Manchester United’s goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce, who also had 13 clean sheets this season. Manchester United finished in third place, below Arsenal, with 44 points. Chelsea’s forward Agnes “Aggie” Beever-Jones ended the season among the top five scorers with nine goals.

Other Awards From the Season

London City Lionesses’ forward Isobel Goodwin was awarded Women’s Championship Player of the Season. She scored seven goals and was named the Women’s Championship Player.

Her performance was key in the team’s promotion to the WSL, where it will compete next season. Crystal Palace was relegated to the Championship after finishing the season with two wins, four draws, and 16 losses.

Arsenal improved this season, finishing in second place compared to their third-place finish last season. Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey was awarded the WSL Player of the Season, concluding the campaign with nine goals. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s Alessia Russo topped the scoring table with 12 goals and received the Golden Boot. She shared this accolade with Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw, who also netted 12 goals in 14 matches played.
