Two-Time MVP Finalist

Marie-Philip Poulin edged out Toronto Sceptres defender Renata Fast and former Boston Fleet forward Hilary Knight for the award. She’s the first-ever two-time MVP finalist in the PWHL.

Poulin was a scoring machine this season, never going more than two consecutive games without a point. She led the league with 19 goals, accounting for a remarkable 25.7% of Montréal’s total goals in 2024-25.

This MVP award caps off an amazing year for the Canadian national, who also earned 2025 IIHF Player of the Year and MVP honors at the recent IIHF Women’s World Championship.

Poulin keeps the PWHL MVP award in Canada, following in the footsteps of inaugural winner Natalie Spooner of the Toronto Sceptres.

Bringing in the Accolades

The 34-year-old Poulin also took home the Forward of the Year award, while Fast was named PWHL Defender of the Year.

Montréal dominated the awards, with coach Kori Cheverie winning Coach of the Year and Poulin’s teammate Ann-Renée Desbiens securing Goaltender of the Year.

Sarah Fillier, last year’s top draft pick, was named Rookie of the Year after a fantastic first professional season with the New York Sirens.

An Olympic Success

Poulin is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, having scored the game-winning goals in both the 2010 Vancouver and 2014 Sochi Olympics. She also scored in the 2022 Beijing gold medal game, becoming the first player to score in four Olympic gold medal games.
