Game Day One Results

Uganda 27 – 10 Tunisia

The Lady Cranes took to the field for the first time in two years since their last participation in rugby 15s. At halftime, they led by 15 points after scoring four tries to the one try by the Tunisian side. With the start of the second half, Uganda was limited to only one try and a conversion, while the Tunisian side managed to score another try. Unfortunately, the scoresheet did not reflect the toughness of the game as displayed by the Tunisian team, which put up a strong performance against the Ugandan side.

Zimbabwe 46 – 8 Côte d’Ivoire

Zimbabwe defeated the host nation to secure its first win at the tournament, which is played in a round-robin format. The hosts, a young team on the continent, held the Zimbabwe Sables to an 8-8 tie at halftime in a highly contested game. However, the young team could not maintain that momentum in the second half against the more experienced Zimbabwe squad. The Sables returned for the second half and enhanced their attacking strategy to gain a comfortable lead and win against the hosts.
