Coach Emma’s Take

The Golden Olympic coach is thinking ahead of time about the tournaments and competitions the USWNT is scheduled to participate in this year and next year. With the trend of many players retiring and the uncertainty of injuries, she believes this is an opportunity to create a pool of talented women who are always ready to be called up to represent the USA.

In a statement to ESPN, she stated, “None of us know what the roster is going to look like in 2027, so I’m desperate to make sure that we’ve got more players that are in a better position that can help us compete for the highest level.”
